It is Sunday, June 2, 2013 and I am mere hours away from the airport. Less than 24 hours.
I’m so so so so excited and I can’t even believe that it’s really real.
I have a meeting today at St.eds at 1 to go over some rules, and I’m pretty sure to meet the Japanese students that will be in Austin for the summer. I really need a shower but I can do that in a minute.
I need to finish filling out my health paperwork. That’s probably important, since I get sick easily and I really don’t want to die in a foreign country. When I said “I can die happy after visiting Japan”, I wasn’t trying to make that a challenge. I get better health care as a study abroad student in Japan than I do under my parents’ healthcare in ‘Murica. Ain’t it sad?
Daniel, my boyfriend, is buying a Go Pro camera. I’m going to attach it to myself for the times when I really don’t need to be carrying a camera in front of me like a tourist, even though it’s obvious that I’m not Japanese.
The adventure starts now.
